Traveling can be stressful for individuals with autism, developmental disabilities and their families. This 1-1/2 hour educational event will help families anticipate, prepare and navigate the challenges of air travel with new strategies and supports for success—all free for you and yours.

Ready: Planning your trip

Learn how to set up your family member for success and less stress when flying. Understanding tolerances and triggers. Clinical and behavioral strategies for success. Choosing the right flight. Federal laws. Buying insurance and more.

Set: Preparing for travel

The best carry-on secrets. How to get special assistance. “If/Then” social stories and other tools to reduce anxiety and stress.

Fly: At the airport; on the plane

From at the gate to in the air, find out how SFO can support you. Family lines, TSA pre-check, kid-friendly spaces and more—all designed to accommodate and support a safe, more relaxing trip.

Pizza, Healthy Snacks provided.      Child Monitoring (up to age 12) on-site.
