The Senior & Disability Elevator Workgroup is conducting a survey on the elevators in public housing and SRO hotels. Tenants are tired of elevators that are always breaking down and take forever to get fixed. People can’t leave their floors or are trapped in elevators. These conditions are not just inconvenient—they are dangerous and violate the civil rights of seniors and people with disabilities to safe access to their housing! Our workgroup will release its preliminary findings with a demand that the City address these problems now! Come join us to demand that the City fix our broken Elevators immediately!
Many buildings have ancient elevators that don’t work properly! Seniors and People with Disabilities are not able to leave their apartments due to these broken elevators! No one should be trapped in an Elevator!
