Our Programs

ILRCSF relies on consumers to identify their own needs, and provides support, information, and advocacy based on these needs. ILRCSF advocates for individuals who experience disability-related barriers or discrimination, and also advocates to promote needed systems change so people with disabilities have full access to services, physical structures, and activities.

Our core program areas include independent living skills, information and referral services,  peer support, assistive technology, institutional transition and diversion support, systems change advocacy and training, and youth services. We also offer workshops and support groups on a variety of topics. For more information about any of these programs and services, please contact us.

Assistive Technology (AT) refers to the materials, equipment, tools, objects and devices and strategies that allow individuals to live with greater independence. ILRCSF’s AT program helps consumers identify their AT needs, find the AT that suits them best, provides free loans of equipment and, when needed, supports consumers as they explore various funding sources for permanent AT.

Housing Support and Advocacy provides basic housing information and guidance with a focus on tenants’ rights, Fair Housing, and advocacy, in addition to assisting consumers in registering with San Francisco’s Housing Portal.

Via workshops, formal training, and one-on-one consultation our Economic Empowerment staff help consumers take control of their own finances, set realistic financial goals,  and develop habits which support Independent Living.

Our Legal Program staff provides consumers between the ages of 18 and 59 with consultation services, support, and representation regarding an array of legal issues related to disability and accessibility.

ILRCSF’s Community Activities Program is all about making connections, trying new things, having fun, getting out in the community, making friends, and having a good time.
