Accessible Computer for Public Use

We are very excited to announce that thanks to the support from the California Communications Access Foundation (CCAF), ILRCSF has upgraded our Public computer! Any person with a disability may use the computer, free of charge. We offer longer time slots than the public library, and the computer is equipped with up-to-date adaptive hardware and software.

Features of our new computer include:

  • Skype software, as well as a high-quality webcam. Skype can be especially useful for consumers who are Deaf because it enables deaf consumers to have conversations with friends, family, and colleagues.
  • ZoomText Magnifier/Reader and a 27” Widescreen Monitor, which is intended for people who have low vision.
  • QualiEYE software and wireless headsets, a LightIO Touchless Keyboard, a Vertical Mouse and an Orbitrack, which is intended for people who have difficulty using a traditional keyboard and mouse.
  • An IntelliKeys keyboard, which can be useful for people with learning disabilities, cerebral palsy, and other disabilities.

Feel free to use some or all of the cutting-edge assistive technology installed on our Accessible Computer.  Call our office at 415-543-6222 to reserve a slot.
